16.01, 19h Show and Talk

17.01, 11h Workshop "Melt Together"

Two bodies moving through a landscape of ice, setting out on an attempt. The attempt to become tender in a hostile environment. The attempt to melt without losing their outlines. The attempt to transform their environment. To find new forms where anger and tenderness can coexist and condition each other.

An attempt to find strength in shared vulnerability and allow this process to be witnessed.

Janne Schröder (1995) is a performance artist and facilitator. Her work is based on movement, exploring the sensorial as well as the political body with improvisation and imagination techniques. In choreographic compositions she combines movement with text material, inviting her audience to a reality of shared vulnerability, of resistance and beauty, that is poetic and political at the same time. She has an international Master's degree in Performing Public Space (NL) and a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practice (GER). In 2025 she took part in FAICC - Intensive Course in Interpretation and Choreography by Instável - Choreographic Centre in Porto. Since 2020 she is part of the artistic direction of PELE, where she develops artistic interventions in community contexts in Porto. She gives workshops that explore “in-tender-actions“ in public space and in her last creation „Good evening Mr. Photon“ she researched the interference of clowning and contemporary dance.

Tabea Sandmann (1997) is a dancer and choreographer. In her artistic practice, she combines contemporary dance with performance art and poetry. She is driven by the question of how to find artistic expressions for the struggles for social equity, exploring ways of creating collectively and more inclusively. She is one of the founding members of The Leftovers Collective, which performs regularly in the city of Porto. After studying Performing Arts at the University of Hildesheim (GER) and Acting at ESMAE Porto, she participated in OficinaZero 2022/23, an Intensive Contemporary Dance Programme in Porto (PT). In 2024, she participated in Recurso, a programme for emerging creators, initiated by ESTRUTURA A.C. She is currently involved in different projects as a dancer and collaborates as a choreographer with Associação PELE and A Era Uma Vez Teatro.

Since 2024, janne&tabea have been working together in various contexts, exploring radical tenderness as a performative strategy to question and transform our social interactions.
